Job Description

Company Description

Welcome to the good side of tech

You might have heard about us, but with a different name: DocPlanner, Doctoralia, Znanylekarz… It all started 10 years ago when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step of the company’s history: Making people longer & healthier lives? We’re coupling the latest advances in AI & LLMs to the power of the network effects of our Marketplace to transform how people approach healthcare.

Docplanner at scale

We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 90 million patients trust us every month. 210,000 specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 3.500 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup mindset we started with over 10 years ago.

And why should you join us?

Because it feels good to tell your family and your friends how you made the world a little bit better. You go to bed knowing that what you do matters, and that your talents align with your beliefs.

We want to make people live longer & healthier lives, and that starts with you being you. We believe that taking the diversity of human experience into account makes a better healthcare experience for all. We’re not just different: we embrace diversity. We will encourage you to come to work your whole self, and that includes not coming to the office at all if you prefer not to, as we’re 100% remote-friendly.

Job Description

We are looking for a Product Design Director who obsesses over solving real problems for real people, not just making things look beautiful. While strong visual craft matters, your true north is creating solutions that meaningfully improve user outcomes. You thrive in ambiguity, embrace complexity, and guide teams to discover, design, and deliver experiences that make a difference in people’s lives.

Your leadership is grounded in empathy for users, deep collaboration with product and engineering partners, and a drive to ensure that our work delivers measurable impact. You understand that design is not just about aesthetics, it’s about making our product work better for the people who use it.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the CPTO, you will own the user experience of DocPlanner’s Practice Management Software product and AI efficiency tools for doctors and receptionists in all our markets .

Key Responsibilities

  • User-Centric Vision: Champion a problem-first design approach, ensuring that every decision is grounded in research, data, and real-world user needs.

  • Problem Framing: Help teams uncover root causes, reframe challenges, and define clear problem statements before moving to solutions.

  • Design Leadership: Lead and mentor designers to think critically, experiment boldly, and validate ideas quickly.

  • Outcome Focus: Drive the design process toward measurable improvements in user experience, adoption, and satisfaction.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, research, and analytics to co-create solutions that are both user-centered and technically feasible.

  • Rapid Iteration: Encourage prototyping, testing, and learning over polishing — iterating toward the best solution rather than the most perfect pixel.

  • Strategic Influence: Identify opportunities where design can make the biggest impact on user success and business goals.

  • Communication: Clearly articulate the “why” behind design decisions, connecting them to user value and product strategy.

Qualifications

  • Experience

    • 8+ years in Product Design background with evidence of expertise in end-to-end design, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.

    • Experience working on tech, product-driven SaaS companies

  • Proven Impact: Track record of delivering design solutions that measurably improved user and business outcomes. A strong portfolio/presentation with case studies that showcase: Great design execution and processes, Problem-solving capabilities, and Design Leadership. Please attach your portfolio to the application.

  • Systems Thinking

    • Ability to see the big picture while sweating the details that matter most to users.

    • Understanding of systems thinking and component-based design patterns.

  • Collaboration: Strong facilitation skills and experience working within cross-functional product teams.

  • Tools: Skilled in modern design and prototyping tools, but equally comfortable with whiteboards, sticky notes, and low-fidelity sketches.

  • Mindset: Deep empathy for users, comfort with ambiguity, and passion for learning through feedback.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Additional Information

  • Flexible remuneration and benefits system  via  Flexoh which includes: restaurant card, transportation card, kindergarten, and training tax savings;
  • Share options plan after 6 months of working with us.

Health comes first

Private  healthcare   plan with  Adeslas for you and subsidized for your family (medical and dental); Access to hundreds of gyms  for a symbolic fee in partnership for you and your family with Wellhub; Access to  iFeel , a technological platform for mental wellness offering online psychological support and counseling.

True flexibility and work-life balance

Remote or  hybrid work model with our hub in Barcelona; Flexible  working hours (fully flexible, as in most cases you only have to be on a couple of meetings weekly); Summer intensive schedule during July and August (work 7 hours, finish earlier); 23paid holidays, with exchangeable local  bank holidays; Additional paid holiday  on your birthday or work anniversary (you choose what you want to celebrate).
