RN – Cardiac Neuro (Stroke Unit)

Location: Sanford, FL
Schedule: Days or Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Salary Range: $30.75 – $44.68 per hour (based on years of experience)
Night Shift Differential: $4.50/hour
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Days) / $15,000 (Nights)
Relocation Assistance: Available case-by-case

Job Description

Join a collaborative, patient-focused Cardiac Neuro (Stroke) unit where your skills, compassion, and dedication will be valued every day. This is a 26-bed unit with a strong interdisciplinary team, supportive leadership, and opportunities to advance your clinical knowledge in neuro/stroke care and telemetry.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate, and evaluate patient care

• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage IVs

• Educate patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions

• Support stroke and neuro patients in both med/surg and telemetry settings

Unit Details:

• Unit Type: Stroke/Neuro and Medical-Surgical

• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:6

• Charting: Meditech

• Equipment: GE telemetry, bladder scanners, Baxter IV pumps

• Strong culture of teamwork, learning, and mentorship

Qualifications

Must Have Requirements:

• Active RN license in Florida or compact state (or eligible)

• Minimum 1 year recent acute care Med-Surg or Telemetry RN experience
  (Rehab experience from Kindred, Encompass, HealthSouth, or Select Specialty may be accepted if recent and stroke care–relevant)

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma

• BLS – must be obtained within 30 days of hire

• ACLS – must be obtained within 6 months of hire

• NIH Stroke Certification – must be obtained within 30 days of hire

Preferred Requirements:

• BSN

• Prior Stroke/Neuro or Stepdown/Telemetry experience
