Job Description

Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Join Orange EV , a fast-growing manufacturer of electric vehicles that are better for the earth, people and the bottom line. Position Summary Responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, audit, training, reporting, and management of applicable environmental, health, and safety permits and programs, including OSHA required programs, other applicable federal and state safety and environmental programs, and Worker’s Compensation for all Orange EV locations. Know and understand company operations to ensure environmental, health, and safety program coverage and compliance. Position Responsibilities Evaluate local and field operations and ensure development and implementation of policies, procedures, and training programs to achieve consistency throughout all Orange EV locations. Fosters a partnering relationship with the leadership team and department managers by building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust by they have access to high-quality safety advice and guidance to support the business objectives. Ensures all records are maintained in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Monitor compliance progress and encourage timely completion of requirements. Report internally on key performance indicators. Provide technical expertise, guidance, and assistance to reduce risk and provide for a safe work environment. Lead and participate in compliance audits. Review ongoing program elements to ensure they are being followed and any required documentation is properly updated and filed. Provide evaluations of on-going programs to management as required. Ensures comprehensive safety audits of the facility are proactively conducted for compliance with OSHA standards and company policies and procedures. Communicate results of audits with senior leadership and work with operational managers to implement corrective actions. Responsible for the timely completion of root cause analysis associated with near-misses and incident investigations and collaborates with operational management on implementing corrective actions. Engage in verbal and written communication with regulatory authorities regarding routine reports and compliance status. Research and report on changes to EHS laws, regulations, and industry updates related to the EV manufacturing industry. Communicate appropriate information to management and ensure that all company policies and procedures are current. Develop, analyze, and communicate key safety trends to identify the impact on the business by using data to guide continuous improvement, which aligns with business objectives. Manages and sets appropriate performance objectives for the safety department and reports by holding them accountable for achieving results and taking appropriate corrective actions when necessary. Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years related experience and/or training in related field. Practical and working knowledge of EHS regulations required. Experience with using and leading process hazard analysis required. Ability to read and write clear, accurate and concise reports and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office programs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, regulators, consultants, and the general public. Must possess the ability to solve problems and evaluate processes. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hot, cold, and humid conditions. The employee may work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration may exist. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, requiring hearing protection in all protected areas. Normal Work Schedule The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as required/requested. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
