Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking skilled Flux Core and MIG Welders to join our team. This role involves structural and cosmetic welding on locomotives, including rust repair, fabrication, and installation of custom parts. Welders will work across various positions and metal thicknesses, contributing to the restoration and remanufacturing of locomotive components.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in dual shield Flux Core and solid wire MIG welding.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions and perform multi-pass groove welds.
• Experience with steel plate/sheet metal from 1” to 16 gauge.
• Comfortable working in tight spaces inside and outside locomotives, working at elevated levels and in physically challenging positions.
• Willingness to follow verbal and written job instructions and collaborate with team members.
• Ability to pass standardized weld tests with practice opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Flux Core and MIG welding on mild steel components.
• Execute groove and fillet welds in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
• Conduct rust repair and structural restoration without blueprints—based on verbal and written instructions.
